The beginning of the week is always a little hard to get stuck into, but fortunately the weekly drop of newness from Mr.Porter provides a shining light at the end of the tunnel, and this week they went all out with some SS13 rainbow brights from British brand Folk and a YSC favourite, Marni…

Tones of lilac and grey helping spring fashion to make a subtle debut for the SS13 season, with just a little pop of purple to tie it all together.

Not sure it would be ideal for back packing but Louis Vuitton have inspired me to throw my life into a bag and see what’s happening across the globe on an LV expedition

With it being so cold outside, one probably shouldn’t be thinking about clothes for SS13, but this #trenchcoat from team #JonathanSaunders is definitely high on must purchase list…
Technical prints make a boy swoon :)

Since joining Burberry 11 or so years ago, Christopher Bailey has been key to the rebranding of what was a flagging brand, and all these years later, Burberry now sits upon a pedestal so high, that it’s counterparts daren’t bother to try and eclipse what they have created. Bailey is for this day and age, the oracle for creating beautiful pieces, and there are over 12million facebook fans to prove it!
For the SS13 show in Milan, team Burberry took their existing shapes and cuts, and sexed these up with the help of some very electric metallic fabric. As the opening looks emerged, you felt as if you had taken a trip to the garden of Eden, looking at a selection of forbidden fruit, willing you to try them on, and lavish in the splendour of metallic brights. Collars were backed with the fabric, whilst shirts and entire outerwear pieces were crafted of the fabric…this was Burberry’s way of saying let’s have fun next year, no matter what the British summer weather is saying!
As always, the suit jackets were impeccably cut, but for SS13 the length shortened, which of course will appeal to a new younger customer, these pieces were paired with intricate prints that seemed more grown up than the African explosion for SS12, refined shapes, with a reduction in scale and a more subdued colour palette more usual of the Burberry man.
The bright lights of “metalica” continued to parade down the runway, taking shape in the trousers (and unfortunately the sandals too - YSC don’t like feet, so this wasn’t a great look for us) working it’s way to a crescendo of amazing bomber jackets which will no doubt be a big hit!
There may be very little house check on show, but you don’t feel cheated as the Judy Jetson metallics and subtle prints open new doors for the Burberry customer!

Easy, Breezy, Beautiful, is the best way to describe the SS13 ready to wear collection from Baartmans and Siegel.
The design duo, returned to the runway last week, following the success of their AW12 collection presentation at Vauxhall Fashion Scout, to showcase a carefully edited selection of pieces, which centred around a very minimalist colour palette of whites, shades of grey, stone and accented with pops of mint green, ice blue and peach.

Since it’s beginning, the brand have offered it’s young customer, a grown up approach to dressing semi casually, done with it’s playful use of fabrics which shimmer and shine, and the cool looks which are styled in a way that doesn’t intimidate, but instead encourages you to jump on board the B&S ship!
The collection which is called Cuban Crab Catchers, offers a selection of relaxed tailoring 2 pieces, skintight jogging pants, slinky knitwear and classic outwear which bares the Baartmans and Siegel twist.

For a brand who are only onto their second collection presentation to the worlds menswear press, it seems that the fabric isn’t the only thing that shines, this brand definitely has the legs and design talent to go far.
