And we’ve come to the end of Mr A.Armstrongs 7 day shoe diary and there hasn’t been a footing out of place, nor has there been a pair of trainers in sight!
For the final day, we are graced with the presence of a brightly coloured pair of Mr.Hares, the King Tubby to be precise, so in some ways I guess this could be Mr.Armstrongs way of loosening the shoe rains by slipping into some suede.

Q: If you weren’t part of the education system by day and the sassy retail manager by weekend, what would you be doing?
A: I genuinely love both of my jobs. I suspect that a lot of people might think that working seven days a week since 1996 is a little odd, but I think it’s really important to do what makes you happy. I love the energy and the laughter that come from working with children but I also really enjoy working part-time in retail. I am particularly lucky to look after some pretty amazing clients.
I guess maybe one day I would like to start writing books for children. Perhaps I could write one about a shoe-mad, trainer-hating boy who likes to watch foreign films, read books and bake cakes. Surely that’d be a best seller.
I hope you’ve enjoyed the journey of stepping in this man’s shoes, I certainly have…

For the remaining days of Mr.A Armstrongs shoe diary, he still manages to step out in shoes that are sharp and elegant, not letting his guard down even with the weekend in sight…
Day 5 / Mr Hare Black and White Fitzgerald

Q: What do you take into consideration when buying a new pair of shoes?
A: My purchasing decisions are based purely on shoe lust - never on practicality or other mundane factors. I like shoes that make me dribble with that have-to-own-them-NOW desire. I really hate wearing trainers. I bought a pair of Nike Air Max something-or-others at the end of the ‘90’s and I possibly wore them twice.
Day 6 / YSL Jonny Boots with Brogue detailing in Black

Q: Does a man have as much right to shoes as a woman?
A: That question really made me laugh. I am sure that there are people of both genders who couldn’t give a fig what they put on their feet. But obviously, everyone has the right to look amazing and own fancy footwear.

I had the pleasure of taking a seat at the recent Mr Hare menswear presentation during London Collections Men, and the new product was showcased in such an imaginative / creative way, using dance and lighting to capture the audiences attention…I for one sat mouth agape throughout, at the sheer brilliance!
