YSC AW13 Runway Watch - Matthew Miller

When looking toward a designer who shows signs of progression and more importantly stregnth in the body of their work, look no further than Matthew Miller and in particular his AW13 menswear collection.

For his recent show which was part of London Collections Men, Miller steered clear of his edgy digital prints, and opted for an army of models clad in black, with just a touch of anarchy in the form of his slogan “Born to Fail” which was emblazoned across knitwear pieces.

Best of British design talent was hard at work, as biker jackets, trench coats and tailored pieces emerged from back of house each making a bolder statement than the last, and although black is often as a uniform, here we saw a genius at work, as the designer managed to infuse a high level of vibrancy into every piece without making them seem stark and lifeless.

Whilst his slogan might have been “born to fail” this is one man who will do just the opposite ad i’m signing up for the rebellion that he’s starting!
